Supplement Dependencies will increase by 2025, there will be as many as three times as many people over the age of 60 as there were in 1985. This means that as a group, we will all be needing and receiving more and more medical attention than any previous demographic. For example, we each as health conscious individuals take pride in looking our best over the average human being, we tend to take alternative supplements to increase the libido, or enhance muscle mass and go to great lengths to look and feel our best. We rarely take into account that the body has these processes in check thru our individual genetics.

For men in example, we supplement nutrients and overdose our bodies with much desired testosterone, aiding in muscle mass, and stamina. As we age, our bodies may become dependent on these supplements to continue the euphoric results. However since we are supplementing these levels at an earlier age, our bodies will no longer have to produce them naturally over time. There may come a time that we no longer can supplement and our bodies naturally and will one day begin to detox and our bodies no longer producing testosterone naturally, can fail much quicker, therefore continually being dependent on what we thought to be temporary.

The best remedy is no remedy, however if we must supplement whatever is lacking, always give the body time to recoup by giving the body a rest from the supplements and continue to strive for a naturally occurring method and avoid dependency. As generations age, especially those currently between 40 and 60, tend to drink coffee every day to keep up their energy levels. Many studies now show that coffee though high in anti-oxidants may prevent age related health conditions, and such findings are sure to boost the coffees’ high appeal. However coffee drinkers are becoming caffeine dependent or addicted to the point that ceasing for just one day, begin to experience headaches and nausea from not getting the daily fix. Not to mention high blood pressures, problems with diabetes and weight gain. Not even mentioning the associated crashes that follow each boost of caffeine.

As generations pass and increase their needs for dependency, the field of medical care will grow in demand and will likely fall short of providing such demands. Generations will need to stretch out their retirement financial arrangements in order to secure the elevated costs associated with healthcare and ending up paying more and more for less and less. The alternatives are to stay healthy by eating smart, staying away from genetically altered food products and processed nutrition and remember our bodies need consistency more than we need fluctuations. Maintaining ourselves thru naturally recurring methods are always best and by being accepting that sometimes our genetics are what they are. If you’re destined to be short, alternatives to make you feel taller are just temporary and as we age and get shorter, the more and more we’ll need to supplement in order to maintain our height.
